"Ladders" explores the relentless pursuit of success in corporate and social spheres - a pursuit that often requires the seeker to step on others to ascend up the ladder. There is freedom that comes in stepping off of the ladder, choosing collaboration and moving more fully into our lives.

This piece was shown at Sarasota Contemporary Dance where Sami was a guest choreographer during their pre-professional summer intensive. The work is largely inspired by the work of poet, writer and activist sonya renee taylor.
